Born and raised in Minneapolis, Roderick Neal counts as his musical influences Donn Thomas, Larnell Harris, Daryl Coley, Peabo Bryson, Howard Hewitt, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, Bobby Caldwell and Kevon Edmonds.
